Bollywood's newest release "Zanjeer" fell flat on its second day of its theatrical run at the box office.

Generally, the business on the second day, i.e. on Saturday, is higher in comparison to the opening day. But the business of action film "Zanjeer" has declined drastically on Saturday as it raked in only ₹2.89 crore. On the opening day, Apoorva Lakhia directorial film opened to a dull start, raking in around ₹3.58 crore.

"#Zanjeer *Hindi version* slips on Day 2... Fri 3.58 cr, Sat 2.89 cr. Total: ₹6.47 crore," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

The film, which is a remake of 1970's cult film of the same name, had registered low occupancy in theaters on the first day and it also failed to make good collections on the following day.

According to Financial Express, the Priyanka Chopra-Ram Charan Teja starrer was made on a budget of ₹70 crore. Looking at the film's box office trend, it seems that the film would not be able to compensate its production cost.

According to reports, "Zanjeer" shows were cancelled in several theatres and were replaced by "Shuddh Desi Romance" which is receiving terrific response at the box office. "Zanjeer" was released in more than 2,000 screens in India.

But on a positive note, the Telugu version of the film "Thoofan" is doing far better than the Hindi version.

The two day total of "Zanjeer" is ₹6.47 crore. In comparison, the opening day total of "Thoofan" is around ₹8.14 crore, according to Adarsh.

It won't come as a surprise if the collections of the Telugu version surpass the business of the Hindi version.
