Zakir's long break

The 38-year-old has left his fans and followers all across the world shocked with his announcement. "It will be a break of three, four, or five years to take care of my health and to sort out a few other things. Everyone present here tonight is very close to my heart. Your presence means more to me than you can imagine, and I will always be grateful to all of you. Thank you so much," he said.

Zakir also mentioned that his programme in June might be his last for the next few years to come. In an Instagram post last year, the Indore born comic had revealed that the back-to-back touring, missed meals, sleepless nights, no routine schedule had taken a toll on his health. He had said that he continued to work as it seemed important but had been unwell for a long time.

The last show

"I've been unwell for a year, but I had to work because it felt important at the time," he had said. Zakir has now written on social media, "Every show is a celebration till June 20. I won't be able to come to many cities this time, so please make a little extra effort and come to the shows. Thank you for all the love."

Zakir has established a huge fanbase for himself in the last decade. His clean, family comedy has made the nation name him as the 'sakht launda'.
