Ajith's "Yennai Arinhdaal" is now cruising its way to become the biggest box office success for him. The movie, which had received high positive responses, is now continuing its success run in the country in its second week also.
As per latest box office reports, the movie has grossed ₹65 crore in India alone. According to industry analyst and tracker Ramesh, the film has done extremely well in different parts of the country. The region-wise break-up is given below:
"Yennai Arindhaal" India Feb 5th-15th (11 Days) BO Gross
Tamil Nadu - ₹54.25 crore
Karnataka - ₹5.4 crore
Kerala - ₹4.15 crore
Rest of India - ₹1.45 crore
Total - ₹ 65.25 crore
The response to the latest Ajith flick is seen as extremely good, as the movie has done well despite the fact that it was not released during a festive season.
Meanwhile, "Yennai Arindhaal" has received overwhelming response in the US also. The film has crossed $500k mark at the US box office. Ajith now joins the $0.5-million club of Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijay and Vikram.
It is also Gautham Menon's first movie to reach this figure at the US box office; he now joins other hit filmmakers like AR Murugadoss and Shankar.
As per reports, the India-Pakistan ICC World Cup match on Sunday adversely affected the second weekend collection and theatre occupancy for the movie. Moreover, the release of Dhanush starrer "Anegan" has also led to the Ajith starrer losing out a number of screens.
However, industry experts believe that the movie will have a successful run for the next few weeks, considering the response of the audience.
