Dhanush starrer "Anegan" is ruling the roost in Chennai theatres followed by Ajith's "Yennai Arindhaal", Junior NTR's Telugu movie "Temper", Vikram's "I" and Dhanush's Bollywood flick "Shamitabh".

The first weekend collection of the movie at Chennai box office also looks promising. The film has collected over ₹1.2 Crore from 276 shows in the city over the weekend. 

Reports are coming in that the distributors of "Anegan" have raised the screen count of the Dhanush starrer from 415 to 390, considering the positive reviews the movie has been receiving.

"Anegan" has been released in 701 screens worldwide. The film has hit the screens in 390 theatres in Tamil Nadu, 91 in Kerala, 50 in Karnataka and 170 in foreign countries.

"Anegan" has raised the bar for Dhanush who plays four different roles in four different looks with ease. The movie revolves around the concept of rebirths and psychological hallucination, which the lead character played by Amyra Dastur has about her previous birth.

The movie also talks about the love of the character played by Dhanush and Amyra in their four births. The movie directed by KV Anand also has star cast of Aishwarya Devan, Lena, Ashish Vidyarthi, Mukesh Tiwari and Vinaya Prasad.
