Chinese technology major, Xiaomi is all geared for the third Mi3 flash sale in India this week, with more units up for grabs at Flipkart.

Company (via Facebook) has said that there will be 15,000 Xiaomi Mi3 units for sale on 5 August. Even though the company is selling 5,000 additional units this time, it is still certain to fall short as more than 100,000 consumers have registered for Tuesday's flash sale.

On 29 July, Xiaomi Mi3 units were sold out in a record 5 seconds time, much quicker than the 22 July flash sale, which took close to 39 minutes for the company to sell all the devices. Following this, the company got panned by fans for keeping very low stocks and for not being transparent about the details of the units available for sale. Similarly, tomorrow's flash sale is also expected to witness the same mad rush from Mi3 fans with a possibility of breaking previous record sale time.

[Tip: Make sure you log in to your Flipkart account two to three hours, ahead of sale].

It has to be noted that registered users, who missed out buying Xiaomi Mi3 on 29 July, must re-apply for registration; interested consumers, click here. The sale on 5 August will kick-off at 2:00 pm.

Xiaomi is imbibing the same marketing strategy that it used in China by selling devices in batches. Though the strategy has worked out well for the company, it faced a huge embarrassment in Taiwan recently. FTC (Fair Trade Commission) slapped a NT$600,000 (around $20,000/₹12,17,000) fine for misrepresenting actual sales figure, reported Focus Taiwan.

Nevertheless, it is also true that Xiaomi sells amazing devices at a dirt cheap price tag. This strategy has immensely helped the four year old company to topple South Korean consumer electronics giant, LG from the top five smartphone leaders' chart and has become a serious threat to the table toppers - Samsung and Apple, whose market share have shown a drastic decline this year compared to 2013, reported Reuters, citing market watchdog Strategy Analytics.

For the uninitiated, Xiaomi Mi3 comes with a  price tag of just ₹13,999 and boasts of 5.0-inch full HD display, 2.3GHz Snapdragon CPU, Android v4.4.2 KitKat (with custom MIUI), full HD display (440 ppi) with Gorilla Glass 3 shield, Aluminum-Magnesium alloy frame and many more feature-rich specifications.
