The rumours will finally be put to rest when Xiaomi will update its smartphone lineup with this year's most anticipated devices. Xiaomi has already confirmed that it will be holding an event at the Beijing National Convention Center on 24 November and rumours are rife about the release of the latest flagship Mi 5 smartphone along with Mi Pad 2 and Redmi Note 2 Pro. It is only a matter of time before the mystery unravels.

According to a Times News report, three Xiaomi devices with model numbers 2015055, 2015815 and 2015811 passed China's 3C certification, getting approval for consumer use. Details of these model numbers were not revealed, but the report says two models are variants of a single device, likely Mi 5, and one of them is for the Redmi Note 2 Pro.

Recently, Mi 5 was also spotted on Geekbench browser with a codename "Xiaomi Gemini", carrying high-end features such as 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB RAM, Android 6.0 Marshmallow and 2140 single-core and 4762 multi-core scores.

Times News further sheds light on another Xiaomi device, the Mi Pad 2, which might see the light of day at the upcoming launch event. As per the leaked Geekbench database, the MI Pad 2 is expected to feature a 2.24GHz Intel Atom x5-Z8500 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 7.9-inch display and Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.

With concrete evidence pointing towards Xiaomi Mi 5, Redmi Note 2 Pro and Mi Pad 2, there is little doubt that the Chinese smartphone maker won't showcase any of these on 24 November. Since nothing is officially confirmed, only Xiaomi can surprise us all with some alterations at the event.

As far as the rumours go, the Mi 5 smartphone is said to feature a 5.2-inch QHD screen, 16MP rear camera, 5MP front snapper, USB Type-C connector, fingerprint scanner, 3,030mAh battery, Snapdragon 820 chipset, 3GB RAM and 16/64GB on board storage.

On the other hand, the Redmi Note 2 Pro will carry a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, MediaTek Helio X10 chipset, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front snapper, fingerprint scanner and a 3,060mAh battery.
