We may be nearing the launch of Xiaomi's 2015 flagship, the Mi 5 smartphone, soon. Rumours are rife about the Mi 5 release but the company is silent on the subject. Adding to the pile of existing rumours, a new device codenamed Gemini was spotted on Geekbench's benchmarking site with high-end specifications. Looking at the specs, it appears as if the mysterious device is Xiaomi's next flagship.

Considering the relation between Gemini and Mi 5 is true, the specifications on board are impressive. As per the listing, the handset will be powered by 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with Adreno 530 GPU for graphics. In addition, the handset is said to sport 3GB RAM and run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. One can only imagine the lag-free performance this combination of the configuration will deliver.

The GeekBench listing of Xiaomi Gemini was topped off with the single and multi core test, scoring 2140 and 4762, respectively. This is an impressive number but several flagship devices in the market have better scores.

From what we have heard so far, Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Mi 5 smartphone on 11 November. As for the leaked specs, the Mi 5 flagship is expected to feature a 5.2-inch QHD screen, Gorilla Glass 4 protection, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, 32GB/64GB storage, 16MP primary camera, 5MP front snapper and 3,000mAh battery.

At the upcoming event, Xiaomi is also expected to release the Redmi Note 2 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi Edge, the high-end edge variant of the Mi 5 smartphone.
