Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of Mi 4C in China on Tuesday, 22 September. The company, in a bid to keep the buzz alive around the new smartphone, has been systematically dropping hints on its key features ahead of the launch.
So far, the company has officially disclosed that Xiaomi Mi 4C will have a Snapdragon 808 Hexa-core processor, Type C USB port adapter, 5mp front-camera and dual-SIM slots (4G+4G). Other key details like RAM, storage, battery capacity and primary camera are kept on hold to be announced on Tuesday.
However, recently leaked AnTuTu benchmark scores and retail box have revealed almost everything about the upcoming phone. To provide a better perspective, we have listed the most probable features that Mi 4C is likely have.
Display and Design:
As per the recent reports, Xiaomi Mi 4C's design language will be similar to Mi 4i. It is expected to flaunt a candy-bar shape with slim body and curved corners. It will sport a 5.0-inch full display with a pixel density of around 441 ppi (pixels per inch).
Xiaomi Mi 4i came with plane white and dark grey back-panel variants. However, this time the company has said that Mi 4C will come in multiple colour variants. Models are said to come in black, pink and blue.
Processor, RAM and storage:
The company has confirmed that Mi 4C will come packed with a 64-bit class-based 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Hexa-core SoC (System on Chip), backed by Adreno 418 graphics engine. Company's chairman Lei Jun on Weibo claimed the phone will come with an advanced modem, which will be 20% faster than that of Mi 4i'.
As far as internal storage capacity is concerned, Xiaomi Mi 4C is said to be made available in two variants -16GB and 32GB- having 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM capacity respectively.
Mobile Operating System:
In August, Redmi Note 2 made its debut with MIUI v7.0 out-of-the-box. So, in all probability, Xiaomi Mi 4C is also expected to come with the same OS as well.
MIUI 7.0 will have Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. The company claims it was developed by an army of close to 750 R&D engineers. They have created a slew of custom themes and introduced face-recognition technology in the gallery app that can automatically make separate albums of each individual in the contact list, provided users turn on the auto-sort feature via People tab in the settings.
Like display, Xiaomi Mi 4C will have the same camera features seen in Mi 4i. It is said to come with a 13mp camera with dual-LED flash on the rear-side and a 5mp snapper on the front.
The company has confirmed that the 5mp camera will house 24mm lens and boast 85-degree of view so that users will be able to include six to seven people in one selfie image.
Recently leaked Xiaomi Mi 4C retail-box has indicated that the phone will house a 3,080 mAh battery, that's 40 mAh power units less than the Mi 4i, which came with a 3,120 mAh cell. This might disappoint many, but since it is yet to be officially confirmed by the company, things might be different once the device is officially released.
Price and Release date:
The word on the street is that Xiaomi Mi 4C will be released in two variants – 16GB/2GB RAM and 32GB/3GB RAM combination. The former model is said to cost ¥1499 ($235/€210/Rs 15,630), but there is no official word on the latter model's price.
Speculations are rife that the top-end model might be priced $50/$75 more than that of the base variant. Both the models are expected to hit stores initially in China on 3 October. Stay tuned for more updates.
