Karan Johar's "Kapoor and Sons" lived up to trade analysts' expectations in the first weekend. In just four days, the film has earned over Rs 50 crore from the worldwide box office.

Fawad Khan, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt-starrer "Kapoor and Sons" has finished its four days run on a good note. The net domestic and overseas box office collection of the film stands at Rs 50.7 crore. The family drama, directed by Shakun Batra, minted Rs 5.08 crore on its fourth day (Monday), which is the second highest after Akshay Kumar's "Airlift." The net domestic total of "Kapoor and Sons" comes up to Rs 31.43 crore, while the opening weekend overseas box office business stands at Rs $2.9 million (Rs 19.27 crore).

Emerges HIGHEST OPENER of 2016 so far," trade analyst Adarsh tweeted, adding: "#KapoorAndSons collects an IMPRESSIVE $ 2.9 million [₹ 19.27 cr] in its opening weekend in the international arena. SUPERB!"

"Kapoor and Sons" is the third movie of the year that is doing well at the box office, after Akshay's "Airlift" and Sonam Kapoor's "Neerja." The Sidharth, Fawad, and Alia-starrer has already achieved the hit status and now is in line to join the superhit movies club.
