Even after three months and several new releases, Akshay Kumar's "Airlift" remains the highest worldwide grosser of 2016. Shah Rukh Khan's "Fan," released last month, is the second highest grosser, while Fawad Khan's "Kapoor and Sons" is the third highest.

Interestingly, Akshay's "Airlift" is the only movie to take its lifetime gross worldwide box office collection to more than Rs. 200 crore. Though Shah Rukh's "Fan" is reaching towards the double century mark, it is not certain when the film will enter the club.

Shah Rukh's "Fan" was expected to have a good box office run, but the earnings are rather disappointing. In it's more than two weeks run, "Fan" minted Rs. 185 crore worldwide. The collection will increase after the end of the third week, but it remains to be seen what will be the final collection of "Fan."

Fawad and Sidharth Malhotra's "Kapoor and Sons" is the third biggest grosser with earnings of Rs. 152 crore. This family entertainer opened with positive reviews and had a strong four weeks box office run.

The fourth biggest grosser of this year is Sonam Kapoor's "Neerja." The film, based on a real-life incident, not only became the second super hit film of this year, but it also continued its box office run for more than seven weeks. "Neerja" earned Rs. 135 crore in its lifetime run from worldwide centres.

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor's "Ki and Ka" is the fifth biggest grosser with Rs. 102 crore, but looks like Tiger Shroff- Shraddha Kapoor's "Baaghi" will soon shatter the record.
