Indian electronics firm WishTel has expanded its IRA portfolio with the launch of a convertible tablet PC called IRA Capsule.

The Mumbai based company which already has a presence in the budget tablet market with IRA, IRA Thing 2, IRA Comet HD aims to carve a new niche with the portable convertible tablet PC. The device sports a 10.1-inch LED multi-touch capacitive touchscreen with 1024x786 pixel resolution and is powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core processor.

It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and packs 1 GB RAM along with internal memory of 16GB which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

On the connectivity front, the tablet supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and and comes with microUSB and HDMI ports. It is powered by 8,000 mAh battery which is claimed to give 5 hours of backup. The tablet comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It is designed with a built-in SIM slot for 3G data connectivity.

The IRA Capsule comes with pre-installed apps such as Wish Learning, Wish Studio, Wish TV, Wish News, WishGames and WishLibrary. The tablet comes in black and metal colour variants and will be available across 35 cities in the country through its distribution network. The device is expected to launch in the first week of April for ₹16,000.
