Update: 12.55 p.m IST: Three men, identified as  Nonto Bose, Samir Nayak and Chotan, were arrested on charges of molestation after a 20-year-old woman jumped from the second floor of a building to escape being raped. She survived the fall and was immediately taken to a hospital by locals who saw her jump, reports ANI

 Original Story: Three people were arrested in West Bengal Sunday after a woman reportedly jumped from the second floor of a building to escape being raped. The woman, who has sustained a minor head injury, has been admitted to a local hospital.

The three, accused of attempting to rape the 20-year-old woman in Liluah, Howrah district in West Bengal, were arrested after the girl jumped from the building Sunday. One of the accused was allegedly her boyfriend, reports NDTV.

On Sunday evening, when the woman arrived at the building to meet her boyfriend, two of his friends were also present. They spiked her drink before attacking her, and threatened to kill her when she screamed. She ran to the balcony and jumped, NDTV quoted the police as saying.

Residents near the area saw the woman jumping from the building and took her to the hospital. They also nabbed the accused and handed them to the police.
