Rescuing Jocelyn Fray (Maxim Roy) is the theme of Season 1 of "Shadowhunters" and this will continue in the latest instalment, episode 11 titled "Blood Calls to Blood." While Jace (Dominic Sherwood) tries to be the ultimate alpha, Clary (Katherine McNamara) becomes sneaky and escapes into Valentine's (Alan van Sprang) territory to save her mom.

Clary's actions will be self-serving in episode 11. In the promo, the teenager is seen sneaking into Valentine's domain, while Jace and Luke are engaged in a fight. This is very unlike her, and Jace is shocked by her actions. He pleads her to think about the rest of the shadowhunters who have put their lives in danger. He says, "Clary, if you don't help us no one will survive. Do you understand?"
Perhaps Clary's motives to act alone are guided by her recent revelation that Valentine (Alan van Sprang) is in fact her dad, and rescuing her mother is more personal than it was. She does however, reveal a secret to her most trusted companion, Jace. In the promo for episode 11, Jace tells her, "You should have told me this before." and Clary's response is this: "Would you have believed me?"
Although the promo doesn't reveal what secret she's been keeping from her most trusted companion, it's safe to imagine that Clary could very well be talking about her dad, the evil downworlder and wrecker of her life, Valentine.
In the upcoming episode, every character on the Freeform TV series will form a strong connection with his/her family. If Clary seeks her mother Jocelyn, Alec (Matthew Daddario) is busy trying to save his sister Izzy (Emeraude Toubia) from banishment. However, it remains to be seen if everyone succeeds in their own separate mission.
Alec tells his fiancée Lydia (Stephanie Bennett) that they postpone his sister's trial but she doesn't agree. At this juncture, High Inquisitor Imogen Herondale enters the Institute to pass the sentence on Izzy's alleged treason. It's safe to say that she may not be favoured. In the promo, Izzy says, "I'd rather be stripped of my roots and sentenced to exile, than be part of this world."
Season 1 episode 11's synopsis (via TV Guide) reads:
"Clary, Jace and Luke devise a plan to rescue Jocelyn after a surprising ally provides them with important information about Valentine. Meanwhile, Inquisitor Herondale arrives at the Institute for Isabelle's trial; and Alec asks Magnus for help."
