Either Leo Lions, Virgo Super Kings or the Sagittarius Strikers will confirm their spot in the second position of the Masters Champions League 2016 table by the end of Thursday. All three teams are on two points, and are involved in their matches in the competition today.

Leo Lions take on Virgo Super Kings in the second match of the day at Sharjah.

Both teams have a win and a loss in the competition so far, and a win today will give either side a boost in catching up with leaders Gemini Arabians, who are on six points. Sagittarius Strikers, meanwhile, are playing against Libra Legends in the first match of the day.

Leo Lions, skippered by West Indies legend Brian Lara, won their maiden game of the competition against Capricorn Commanders by 26 runs, and they got overwhelmed by Gemini Arabians in the next game.

Virgo Super Kings, skippered by former South African skipper Graeme Smith, meanwhile, lost to Sagittarius Strikers by 26 runs in their first game of the Twenty20 tournament, while they won their second game of the competition against Libra Legends on Wednesday by 5 runs.

Ex-Proteas star opener Herschelle Gibbs is another big name in the Leo Lions roster, along with Lara, and apart from the lethal southpaws, the MCL franchisee also boast of star fast bowlers like Heath Streak and Darren Gough,

For Virgo Super Kings, Brett Lee and Jonty Rhodes as well as all-rounder Jacob Oram are the big names, apart from Smith.
