Virgo Super Kings and Capricorn Commanders will lock horns in a must-win encounter of the Masters Champions League (MCL) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

This is the  penultimate game of the MCL league stage, and will determine one of the semi-finalists. It is absolutely clear that whoever wins this game will make it to the semi-finals of MCL 2016.

Gemini Arabians have been rampant, having won all their five matches in the group stage, and are sitting at the top of the points table with 10 points. The remaining teams, apart from Libra Legends, who are yet to win a match in this competition, are on 4 points.

One will agree that the Commanders are the favourites when they take on Virgo Super Kings, but it will not be as easy as one may think. The Commanders have a better net run-rate than the Super Kings.

Even if the Commanders lose, they will still have a faint chance of making it to the semi-finals of MCL 2016. Paul Collingwood and his men will have to depend on the result of the last game of the league, between Leo Lions and Libra Legends. The Commanders will want the Legends to thump the Lions by a hefty margin, and only then can the Commanders make it to the final four.

The Super Kings, on the other hand, will look to field their best players on Sunday against the Commanders. They also will be wary of the Commanders' strengths and plan accordingly.

Collingwood and Andrew Symonds thrashed the Legends by eight wickets in their last game and they are confident of yielding a positive result against the Super Kings on Sunday.
