The Euro 2016 in France is just a few days away and teams are in the final phase of their preparations as the quadrennial mega event starts from June 10. Poland, one of the Euro 2016 teams, will face Lithuania in their last pre-Euopean Championships friendly at the Stadion Miejski on Monday.

Poland will be keen to script a huge win, and head over to the competition as a confident unit. Poland were in scintillating form in the qualifying stages, losing to only Germany, and finishing second in their group.

But, Poland suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Netherlands, who failed to qualify for Euro 2016 in their last international friendly fixture. There were plenty of points to ponder for Polish coach, Adam Nawalka, against the Netherlands as their team did not play the attacking football they have been known for, of late. Poland were rather exposed by the young Dutch side, who emerged victorious.

Another loss against Lithuania will only raise more questions about the team's chances in the competition. Hence, this game against Lithuania is important for Poland, with the team banking on Robert Lewandowski to inspire them to a win.

With Lewandowski not being at his best against the Netherlands, the Bayern Munich star will try to use this match to get back to his goalscoring form ahead of Euro 2016, where the striker will play an important role. Lewandowski scored as many as 13 goals in the qualifying stages, and another similar performance in France can increase Poland's chances of shining in the competition.

Though they lost against the Netherlands in their last fixture, Poland have won five of their last six matches, which is quite impressive.

Lithuania do not come into this fixture as a confident unit, having won only one of their last five matches. Lithuania might not possess world class-players, but winger Arvydas Novikovas and skipper Fiodor Cernych are players to watch out for.
