St Kitts and Nevis Patriots will be eyeing their second win of Caribbean premier League (CPL) 2016, when they will take on Barbados Tridents at Basseterre in St Kitts on Tuesday. Tridents, on the other hand, have lost their first match of CPL 2016 against the defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders.

Patriots are coming into this match after a thumping victory over St Lucia Zouks by 58 runs. That was a huge win indeed and that victory must have given them a major boost for the rest of the tournament. The Faf du Plessis-led side will be looking to build on to that momentum that they had gained after beating the Zouks in their last clash in CPL 2016.

However, it is going to be a very difficult task for the Patriots as they will have to face a very strong side which has the likes of skipper Kieron Pollard, AB de Villiers, Shoaib Malik and a few more stars in their ranks. Patriots will need to be at their sublime best and play good all-round cricket in order to outclass the Tridents in Basseterre on Tuesday.

Tridents, on the other hand, will want their big guns to fire so that they can bounce back from the early loss in this edition of the CPL. The De Villiers-factor will be always be assuring Pollard but they cannot rely on the master-class batman completely. The other players in the side need to realise and step up to the occasion as well.

Expected playing XI:

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots: Lendl Simmons, Evin Lewis, Faf du Plessis (C), Devon Thomas (wk), Jonathan Carter, Thisara Perera, Carlos Brathwaite, Brad Hodge, Krishmar Santokie, Samuel Badree, Tabraiz Shamsi.

Barbados Tridents: Steven Taylor, Kyle Hope, Shoaib Malik, AB de Villiers, Kieron Pollard (C), Nicholas Pooran (wk), David Wiese, Ashley Nurse, Akeal Hosein, Wayne Parnell, Ravi Rampaul.
