Virender Sehwag and Ravichandran Ashwin: one, a former India cricketer known for his witty one-liners on Twitter and another, an active player who is winning plaudits for his impressive display in the recent Test series against New Zealand, are continuing to win social media hearts with their performance. On Tuesday, however, their wives decided to put on the match-winning knock hat.

Sehwag praised Ashwin, who on Wednesday went atop the ICC Test bowling rankings yet again for his sensational showing in the recently-concluded series where Virat Kohli's team inflicted a whitewash over the Kiwis in the three-match Test series. Ashwin, named man of the series after clinching 27 wickets, was in the receiving end of yet another congratulatory message.

"Congrats Ashwin for an incredible 7th Man of the series. Only a married man can understand d urgency of going home early. #FamilyTime [sic]," tweeted Sehwag. Ashwin responded to the former Indian swashbuckling batsman's message with a hearty laugh: "lol [Laughing out loud]..viru pa."

Everything was fine in the messages, but Sehwag's last line in the tweet opened the eyes of the cricketers' wives who bowled a googly as well hit a six straightaway with their responses.

"Hahaha I didn't do much :) [sic]," wrote Prithi, wife of R Ashwin, referring that she did not pressurise her husband to get home early. "Neither did I. Both in a hurry as always [sic]," quipped Aarti Sehwag referring to the same issue.
