Speculations are on the rise for the last few weeks regarding the release date of Vikram-Shankar's "I."

The makers of "I" had announced that the magnum opus will be released as a Diwali treat for the fans. But the latest buzz is that the film might not make it to theatres for the festival period as its post-production works might not get completed by that time.

If the speculations turn out to be true, then the clash between Vijay's "Kaththi" (releasing for Diwali) and "I" will be averted. The Vikram starrer might hit the screens only in November. There is another buzz that "I" producer Aascar Ravichandran might swap "Bhooloham" with the Vikram starrer. The Jayam Ravi-Trisha starrer, produced by Ravichandran, is also awaiting its release.

Speculations are rife that Ravichandran is planning to use the theatres booked for "I" to release "Bhooloham", reported Sify. But, an official announcement regarding "I" and "Bhooloham" release dates are still awaited.

Directed by Shankar, "I" is touted to be a romantic thriller flick. The film will have Vikram appearing in different looks, including that of a beast-like creature, stylish man, body builder and a crippled man. Amy Jackson plays the female lead, while Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi and Bollywood actor Upen Patel will also be appearing in pivotal roles.

The film's music is composed by AR Rahman, while PC Sreeram has handled the cinematography. "I" audio launch was held in a grand manner with the presence of big stars like Rajinikanth and "Terminator" actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The film's teaser was also released during the audio launch.

The teaser was a visual treat for the fans and it received a fantastic response on social media sites. The video has fetched more than 70 lakh views and is approaching the 1 crore mark. The film's trailer is also expected to be released soon.

"I" is reportedly made with a whopping budget of over ₹100 crore. The film is expected to have a wide release across the world. As the Vikram starrer is predominantly set in China, it is expected to be dubbed in Chinese too. The film will also be released in other languages, including Telugu, Hindi and English.
