Tamil actor Vikram Prabhu's new film 'Veer Sivaji' was launched in Pondicherry on Wednesday, 16 September. The film marks the comeback of actress Shamili to the Tamil entertainment industry.

The puja function of the movie was also attended by Vikram's parents actor Prabhu and Punitha Prabhu.

In the upcoming film, directed by Ganesh Vinayak, Vikram will play the role of a taxi driver and John Vijay, who has donned many comedy and villain roles, will play the baddie.

A few days ago, Shamili's first look in her upcoming Malayalam film "Vallim Thetti Pullim Thetti" (VTPT) was unmasked by Kunchacko Boban. There were also reports that she is likely to romance Kiccha Sudeep in K S Ravikumar's next bilingual movie.

Shamili, the younger sister of actress Shalini and sister-in-law of superstar Ajith Kumar has been in the news for quite some time for making her comeback to films. She began her career as a child artiste and is known for her roles in the notable Malayalam and Tamil films like "Anjali", "Malootty", "Nirnayam", and "Harikrishnans", among others.

She made her debut as a lead actress opposite Siddharth in 2009 Telugu drama film "Oye!", for which she won CineMAA Award for Best Female Debut.
