"Jyo Achyutananda" started with a bang at the U.S. box office and generated a better collection than Junior NTR's "Janatha Garage" and Vikram's "Inkokkadu" in the first two days of its release in the country.

The Nara Rohit and Naga Shourya-starrer had decent hype and promotion before its release. Its overseas distribution rights were sold for a fancy price. Released in a large number of screens on Sept 8, "Jyo Achyutananda" got good opening and collected $121,403 at the U.S. box office in premiere shows on Thursday and Friday together.

Taran Adarsh tweeted: "Super-strong word of mouth translates into BO numbers... Telugu film #JyoAchyuthananda witnesses REMARKABLE growth on Fri in USA... contd." Later, he added: "Telugu film #JyoAchyuthananda - USA: Thu $ 30,864, Fri $ 90,539. Total: $ 121,403 [â'¹ 81.23 lacs]. @Rentrak"

"Janatha Garage" collected $1,614,492 at the U.S. box office in its opening week. The movie was expected to continue its rock run in its second week too, but it showed huge drop on its second Friday. The film has collected $31,976 at the U.S. box office on its ninth day, taking its total to $1,646,502. Taran Adarsh tweeted: "Telugu film #JanathaGarage - USA - Week 2: Fri $ 31,976. Total: $ 1,646,502 [â'¹ 11.02 cr]. @Rentrak."

"Inkokkadu", the Telugu version of Tamil film, "Iru Mugan," released with the original in North America on Sept 8 and was off to a good start. The mixed word of mouth took a toll on its collection on Friday. The film has collected approximately $41,500 crore at the U.S. box office in two days. Its collection is much lower than that of "Iru Mugan," which has grossed $73,000 at the U.S. box office in two days.

Idlebrain Jeevi ‏tweeted on Sep 9: "Tamil version performs well on day 2. #IruMugan and #Inkokkadu collect $31,719 and $31,663 respectively by Thursday! " On Sept 10, he further wrote: "#Inkokkadu and #IruMugan collect $41.5k & $73k respectively in USA by Friday! ."

"Jyo Achyutananda" is leading the race at ticket counters across North America. As per early trends, the movie is likely to top the U.S. business chart for the Telugu movies this weekend, beating "Janatha Garage" and "Inkokkadu."
