Breaking no tradition and offering no excuses in the face of current challenges, an Indian-owned company once again chose action over hesitation. This International Workers' Day, employees of UAE-based World Star Holding embarked on a memorable overseas leisure trip—this time to Thailand.
Continuing a heartfelt tradition built over the past several years, the company surprised its workforce by honoring ten outstanding workers from a pool of over 20,000 employees in the UAE's construction sector. These individuals, who delivered exceptional performance over the past year, were recognized with the prestigious "Star Performer of the Year" award before being flown to Thailand as a token of gratitude.
The ceremony, held at the company's headquarters in Sharjah, was filled with pride and emotion. Chairman Nishad Hussain presented each winner with a Five Star Gold Medal, while Managing Director Haseena Nishad handed over certificates of appreciation. Many of the awardees have dedicated over a decade of their lives to the company—years marked by hard work, loyalty, and silent sacrifice. The event concluded with a warm and heartfelt send-off for the journey ahead.
World Star Holding ensured that every detail of the four-day trip was taken care of—new clothes, travel bags, shoes, and all essentials were thoughtfully arranged for each worker. The journey itself began aboard the world's largest passenger aircraft, the Emirates A380, flying from Dubai to Bangkok, the vibrant capital of Thailand.
Their experience unfolded like a dream. From visiting the iconic Golden Buddha and the serene Marble Temple in Bangkok, to traveling onward to Pattaya, the workers immersed themselves in moments they had never imagined. A thrilling speedboat ride to Coral Island opened the doors to unforgettable adventures—paragliding above the sea, exploring vibrant coral reefs through underwater tours, and experiencing the rush of jet skiing and banana boat rides.
The journey was also a celebration of culture and flavor. Walking through Thailand's lively food streets, tasting authentic local dishes, and enjoying vibrant street performances turned every moment into a memory worth cherishing.
They explored the unique Maeklong Railway Market, experienced the world-famous floating markets, captured rare moments with tigers, and even rode elephants—each experience adding a new chapter to their lives.
"For someone like me, I never imagined I would see such places even in my dreams," said senior worker Muniyan Palani, his voice filled with emotion.
Another worker, Ansarul Haq, expressed deep gratitude: "No matter how much we thank the UAE and this company, it will never be enough. They have given us so much."
Scaffolder Akshay Kumar shared, "My four children are studying because of the income I earn here. As long as my health allows, I am ready to work in this country for as long as I can.
