HCL MeTab G1 - Video Review

The HCL MeTab G1 has one big drawback - no access to the Google Play store. If the absence of the Play store doesn't bother you and you will side load your apps via the .apk installer, then you can consider this device, as the power under the hood is really good. The device is very smooth and didn't lag during multitasking. Watching videos on the display is nice but it is very reflective making usage under direct light a problem. There is also no SIM card slot. The 7000mAh battery on the device lasted for just over three hours during continuous video playback. The build of the device is good and it is comfortable to hold. So, do you think this tablet is a bang for your buck?

Micromax Canvas 2 A110 - Video Review

The look and build of the Micromax Canvas 2 A100 is very good. The power under the hood too is good to run all the apps. In its raw performance, there are better performing devices available out there but to the everyday users, you will not notice the difference. It also comes preloaded with its own app store in addition to the Google Play store. The preloaded theme may be too vibrant for some but that can be changed with ease. The only downside to the device is that the display resolution isn’t the best for viewing videos and playing games. Is the A110 worthy of becoming your first phablet? WickedLeak Wammy Sensation - Video Review

For Rs. 16,000 the WickedLeak Wammy Sensation is quite an impressive device. The battery life is good, display is large and comfortable to use but the audio output is quite poor. There are budget smartphones out there with better raw performance but one cool feature of the Sensation is that it offers users a second battery straight out of the box. For people used to using budget devices, the fact that it looks like a Samsung Galaxy S III clone is an added bonus. Nokia Lumia 920 - Hands-On Video

The Nokia Lumia 920 has an 8.7MP rear camera and a 1.2MP front-facing camera. Its camera sports a floating-lens technology and offers optical image stabilization which is a first for smartphones. The camera gives you two interesting features called Smart Shoot and Cinemagraph. Many times, specially in very crowded places or tourist hotspots, while clicking photographs, you end up capturing a random stranger who just passes between the camera and the subject. With the Smart Shoot, the Lumia phone detects any motion in the frame, and selects the area which can be removed from the frame. Cinemagraph basically allows you to animate your images - it is like a glorified GIF. Glorified because you can adjust the areas that you want to be animated. Quite a nifty feature.

We ran the Lumia 920 and the iPhone 5 through a small video recording session at the launch event and measured for the effectivenes of Nokia's new Optical Image Stabilization System along with each phone's ability to adapt to changing light, their prowess in shooting low light conditions and how close they could get to a subject.
