India and US 'natural global partners': PM Modi part -1

New Delhi, Jan 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday while giving the joint statement along with US President Barack Obama said that both India and the US are natural global partners. Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi said the sealing of the civil nuclear deal between India and the US was the centerpiece of a transformed relationship between the countries. The Prime Minister also said that both countries have decided to device a comprehensive global strategy to combat the issue of terrorism. Earlier in the day, India and U.S. sealed the civil nuclear deal, which had been stalled since 2008, after Prime Modi and Obama held delegation-level talks over the issue. According to reports, U.S. has withdrawn the tracking clause from the deal.

US and India's strong personal friendship reflects warmth and affection between people of both natio

New Delhi, Jan 25 (ANI): US President Barack Obama while addressing a joint statement with PM Narendra Modi, said that US and India's strong personal friendship reflects warmth and affection between people of both the nations. He also said that the friendship also reflects the values shared by the two nations as former colonies and as two great democracies. The US President said he and Indian Prime Minister Modi shared notes on how much sleep they get, and revealed that 'Modi gets lesser sleep'. He also said that the reason behind over enthusiasm in Modi is that he is new at his office and also went on to say that with more years pass by, the prime minister may get more hours spared for sleeping. Replying to a question about what the two leaders discussed during their meeting earlier in the day, Obama said it was not possible to reveal the content of their talks.

Politicos react as Obama says India, US moving towards civil nuclear deal

New Delhi, Jan 25 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Sunday after US President Barack Obama while giving the joint statement along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India and US have achieved a breakthrough and are moving towards full implementation of the civil nuclear energy deal. Congress leader Salman Khurshid said that if it is a breakthrough, then nobody can complain about it. Leaders from other political parties gave mixed reactions.

Kadiyam Srihari sworn-in as Deputy Chief Minister of Telengana

Hyderabad, Jan 25 (ANI): Senior Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader Kadiyam Srihari on Sunday took oath as the new Deputy Chief Minister of Telengana. The Warangal Member of Parliament was inducted into K Chandrashekar Rao's cabinet following the sacking of previous Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister T Rajaiah. According to reports, Rajaiah was removed from his post following the reports of corruption in the office of the Health Minister and also due to his ministry's failure to take preventive measures in controlling the Swine Flu in Telangana.

US continues to go for counter terror activity in Ukraine and Yemen, top priority is safety of peopl

New Delhi, Jan 25 (ANI): Talking about the ongoing crisis in Ukraine and Yemen, US President Barack Obama on Sunday said that the United States continues to go for counter terror activity in both the crisis ridden nations. Obama said that the US have definitely no interest in seeing Russia weakened or its economy in shambles but it doing so in order to stop the country from interfering in matter of Ukraine as it is not favourable for US to engage in war with Russia over the issue. Further, talking about instability in Yemen caused by Houthi Coup, President Obama said US has been concerned about what has always been a fragile central government in Yemen and vowed that the US will continue counterterrorism efforts in the country. He however said that the top priority is safety of the people in ground.
