Vodafone's CEO meets Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad

New Delhi, Feb 03 (ANI): The CEO of Vodafone Group, Vittorio Colao, on Tuesday met Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in New Delhi. Colao said that India has great opportunity in terms of expanding telecom business. He added that listing decisions will be taken by the board if they are in favour.

Acute Electricity Crisis

Muzaffarabad, February 03, 2015: Angry protests over acute electricity crisis, Muzaffarabad comes to a halt. Amid pitch darkness and no electricity, markets are shut, offices locked. Students, common people, residents of Muzaffarabad take to streets every evening like this, tired of load shedding for up to 20 hours every day, these people are angry and agitated. Water and power development authority or WAPDA is solely responsible for the acute power crisis in PoK. WAPDA is diverting PoK's share of electricity to Pakistani towns and cities. As a result, education, business and people from all walks of life, mostly the poor are the worst affected. It is not the first time that people have shut down their businesses and come out to protest against government's arbitrary diversion of electricity. Many times in the past the protests have turned violent. Despite resistance from public, Mangla Dam was raised to divert PoK's natural resources to Pakistan. Whenever opposition intensifies, Pakistan sends them inflated bills. No one is listening to the cries of common people of PoK. The international community should intervene and stop this open loot of natural resources by Pakistan.

VHP leader Praveen Togadia barred from entering Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Feb 03 (ANI): Bengaluru police on Tuesday issued a notice to VHP leader Praveen Togadia barring him from entering the city from February 5 to 10. According to media reports, Togadia was prohibited from entering the city because of his previous provocative statements. Reportedly, Togadia was expected to take part in a VHP convention, 'Hindu Viraat Samavesha' in the city on February 8. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that any organisation that creates communal tension won't be allowed to enter in the city. BJP leader Jagdish Shettar condemning the action said that it is unconstitutional and undemocratic.

Wife of Kashmiri Separatist leader Yasin Malik flays India for human rights violations in Indian Kas

Islamabad, Feb 03 (ANI): Addressing a Kashmir Day function in a school in Islamabad on Tuesday, Mushaal Malik, wife of Kashmiri separatist leader, Yasin Malik, said Kashmir had been called a paradise on earth, but human rights violations in Indian-controlled Kashmir had turned into a nightmare for the residents. Mushaal Malik blamed India for the violence in Pakistan's troubled Balochistan province. Kashmir Day, or Kashmir Solidarity Day, is celebrated in Pakistan on February 5 every year, to express Pakistan's support and unity with the people of Indian-controlled Kashmir and their ongoing freedom struggle. It is an internationally-recognized day observed by people, predominantly Kashmiris, not only throughout Pakistan and Pakistani Kashmir (Azad Kashmir), but also worldwide wherever Kashmiris reside.

Delhi Polls: PM Modi addresses rally in Rohini part 1

New Delhi, Feb 03 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed a rally in Rohini area of Delhi ahead of Assembly Polls. Modi attacked opponent parties Congress and AAP for wasting many years of Delhi which could have been used for development of the capital. Modi promised to regularize the unauthorized colonies of Delhi and to provide an abode for all poor by 2022. He also said that Delhi will become generator free and become a hub of power production.
