Fishermen discuss Brexit, political fatigue and future of their industry

In 2016 fishing quotas briefly became a political hot topic in the UK. The restrictions on the British fishing industry were widely used as an example during the referendum of how the EU negatively affected UK business. However, since the UK voted to leave the EU fishing has been seemingly forgotten about by politicians. With the 2017 general election fast approaching, we visited the seaside town of Hastings and spoke with fishermen there about political fatigue, Brexit, and the future of their industry.

Donald Trump announces withdrawal from Paris Climate Accord: Were getting out

Donald Trump has confirmed that he will withdraw the US from the Paris climate agreement, in effect ensuring the worlds second largest emitter of greenhouse gases will quit the international effort to address dangerous global warming. The US will remove itself from the deal, joining Syria and Nicaragua as the only countries not party to the Paris agreement. There will be no penalty for leaving, with the Paris deal based upon the premise of voluntary emissions reductions by participating countries.

Donald Trump pulls US out of Paris climate agreement

Axios news outlet, which first reported that Donald Trump would withdraw the US out of the Paris climate agreement, said details of the pullout are being worked out by a team including EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt. The choice is between a formal withdrawal that could take three years or leaving the U.N. treaty that the accord is based on, which would be quicker but more extreme.

Nothing brings the various tribes of the internet together like creating a meme. Around midnight on May 31, the account of US President Donald Trump tweeted Despite the constant negative press covfefe and the Twittersphere lit up. In less than 10 minutes a newly created @covfefe Twitter account responded to him, it received 6200 retweets, the domain name covfefe.com was purchased and it spawned its own hashtags with tens of thousands of mentions.

Donald Trumps spin doctor Mike Dubke resigns from White House post

White House communications director Mike Dubke will leave his position but no date has been set for his departure, it was reported Tuesday. The veteran Republican strategist reportedly handed in his resignation over a week ago on 18 May, just before President Donald Trumps first official trip abroad. However, he offered to stay on through it, which Trump accepted, Axios reported.
