In 2016 fishing quotas briefly became a political hot topic in the UK. The restrictions on the British fishing industry were widely used as an example during the referendum of how the EU negatively affected UK business. However, since the UK voted to leave the EU fishing has been seemingly forgotten about by politicians. Around midnight on May 31, the account of US President Donald Trump tweeted Despite the constant negative press covfefe and the Twittersphere lit up.
