Mumbai, Nov 19 (ANI): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday inaugurated the country's first all-women bank, the Bharatiya Mahila Bank, an initiative to empower women, with a corpus of rupees 10 billion to function as a universal bank. The announcement for this initiative was made by Indian Finance Minister, P Chidambaram during the annual budget, earlier this year. The inauguration of the bank coincided with the birth anniversary of former Indian Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.
