Red beacon only for Constitutional authorities, says SC

New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled that only Constitutional authorities are entitled to the privilege which guarantees right of way to read beacon cars. Constitutional authorities include the President, Prime Minister, cabinet ministers, governors, the Chief Justice of India, Supreme Court judges and the heads of both houses of Parliament.

BJP on Prashant Bhushan's statement on government formation in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): The BJP on Tuesday stated that the statement of Prashant Bhushan, about supporting the BJP from outside in Delhi if it agrees to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill and Swaraj bill in a time bound manner, is not enough to decide on alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party. The party stated that the message should come from not an individual but from the party.

Garo community in Nagaland celebrates its post harvest Wangala festival with great enthusiasm

Nagaland, Dec 10 (ANI): Around hundred of Garos gathered at Samaguri Village in Dimapur to celebrate Wangla festival. The Wangala is the most significant post harvest festival. It is a "Thanksgiving" ceremony to Misi Saljong, also known as Pattigipa Ra'rongipa (The Great Giver) for having blessed the human beings with rich harvest of the season. It is one of the most important festivals of the Garo tribe. Many young boys and girls, in their traditional attires performed a Folk dance with drum beats during the festival.

Allegations against Dharmendra Koli a political strategy of failed leader: Manish Sisodia

Kaushambi, Dec 10 (ANI): Commenting on the allegations against AAP’s newly- elected MLA from Seemapuri, Dharmendra Koli by the former MLA of the constituency Veer Singh Dhingan, AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that the allegations are nothing more than a political strategy of a filed leader. He said that Koli only took part in a celebration rally in the area, even against which the party had warned him. He said that as asked by the people present at the spot, there was no such incident of molestation with anyone. Sisodia draws suspicion that the act can also be a counter attack on allegations of Koli’s sister’s murder on the opposition.

UK shifts focus to smaller Indian cities for trade

New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): Britain’s business secretary Vince Cable has said that his country is keen on exploring trade and investment opportunities in India’s non-metropolitan cities. Cable, made this statement at the 9th meeting of India-UK joint Economic & Trade Committee (JETCO) in New Delhi. Cable also said that his country was ready to welcome Indian students for pursuing higher education. Meanwhile, trade minister, Anand Sharma, expressed his satisfaction over the progress of the joint-trade ventures between New Delhi and London.

AAP ready to offer 'issue-based' support to BJP, Shiv Sena says against democracy

New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): After Aam Aadmi Party leader Prashant Bhushan said that the party could support BJP if its 'demands are met', Shiv Sena Spokesperson Sanjay Raut said that such conditions on the same is against the principles of democracy and AAP should first support the party then talk of agendas. On this BJP leader Kirti Azad said that AAP should stick to one point first and stop changing their statements every now and then. Azad also said that AAP should come to a common minimum programme.

Anna Hazare begins do-or-die fast for passage of Jan Lokpal Bill

Ralegan Siddhi, Dec 10 (ANI): Anti graft crusader Anna Hazare, 76, has begun an indefinite fast in his village in Ralegan Sidhi to demand the passage of the anti-corruption Lokpal Bill in the Parliament. Hazare stated that he will not break his fast on mere assurance by the government.

Harsh Vardhan on Prashant Bhushan's statement on Government formation in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): A day after Aam Aadmi Party leader Prashant Bhushan said that his party can consider supporting BJP from outside in Delhi, only if it agrees to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill and Swaraj bill in a time bound manner, BJP's Harsh Vardhan said that his party has always promised to eradicate corruption. However, Vardhan made no mention of whether the BJP would talk to the AAP about forming government in the state. During a TV debate, Prashant Bhushan had talked about supporting BJP but had added that it was his personal view and was not the party's official stand.

Political parties asks Justice Ganguly to step down on Human Rights Day

New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): Political parties are demanding West Bengal Human Rights Commission (WBHRC) Chief AK Ganguly to step down from his post on the occasion of Human Rights Day. Shiv Sena Spokesperson Sanjay Raut said that the party will take up the issue in Parliament and Justice Ganguly should step down as soon as possible. Meanwhile, TMC leader Derek O'Brien also followed the suit and said that 'violators can’t be guardians'.
