It seems Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has shifted his attention towards Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan. The Turkish international has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal.

The 29-year-old made his debut for Barcelona in January this year. He was signed in the last summer transfer window but could not play his debut game because of Barcelona's transfer ban.

Turan has made only 25 appearances since January. According to a Metro report, Turan is likely to leave the Catalan giants and Arsenal are one of the frontrunners to acquire his services for the upcoming season.

The Turkish international is also attracting interest from Borussia Dortmund and Fenerbahce. Turkish league champions Galatasaray have also shown interest in buying the talented midfielder.

Reports suggest that Barcelona are open to transfer bids but will not accept anything less than £25.5 million for Turan.

Rumours suggest Turan has failed to adapt to the team and is looking for a club where he will get more game time in the upcoming season.

Wenger had missed out on Jamie Vardy earlier during the ongoing summer transfer window. The Gunners' gaffer would not want to miss out on Turan and will therefore look to strike the deal as soon as possible.

Arsenal recently roped in Japanese international forward Takuma Asano but it remains doubtful whether he will be able to end Gunners' striker woes.

If Wenger manages to net Turan, the Arsenal midfield is likely to become stronger and give Alexis Sanchez to play more centrally just ahead of Turan.
