What seemed like a summer's affair is likely turning into a serious commitment. Reports about Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas dating began making the headlines earlier this summer. The duo was spotted on dinner dates, spending game nights and holidaying together.
Fans understood that things are turning serious when the 25-year-old singer took the Quantico actress as his plus one at a family wedding. Fans went crazy when the 37-year-old brought Nick to India and made their relationship official, well sort of.
Now that the duo has met each other's parents, the couple is now bringing the families together. According to a source close to the couple, the Jonas family is headed to India to meet the Chopra family.
"He and his family are going to India to meet her family," an insider told People magazine. It is said that the Bollywood actress is throwing a party later this week where she will introduce her new family.
A source also told DNA, "Priyanka has sent out messages to close friends and family members to set aside time on August 18 for a party. It's exactly a month after her birthday and those close to the Quantico actress feel that she may make an official announcement about her relationship status at the bash."
Priyanka is in Mumbai filming the Bollywood movie, The Sky Is Pink. It is based on the life of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary. She not only plays a role in the movie but is also co-producing it.
The travel update comes weeks after it was reported that the couple is engaged. A source revealed that the singer proposed her with a Tiffany ring. Jonas reportedly closed down a Tiffany store to buy the ring.
"We're getting to know each other and I think it was a great experience for him. I think he really enjoyed it. It was really beautiful. He had a great time," the actress told a publication last month. Another source said, "Nick has been obsessed with Priyanka since they started dating."
