Tom Cruise has apparently been dating a British woman since June, his first significant relationship since splitting up with Katie Holmes almost four years ago.
According to Us Weekly, the Mission Impossible actor and the unidentified woman got together when he was in London filming The Mummy. He is said to have charmed her with a date to Bourton-on-the-Water, which is an idyllic village outside London.
The woman has been described as normal and beautiful and Cruise is said to be serious about her. "He's serious about this relationship and wants to make it work," the insider said. "Tom wants some companionship." Cruise's new woman has been an occasional visitor to his rental cottage on the outskirts of London and she has also stayed at his London pad.
It was not immediately known if Cruise's daughter Suri has met his new romantic interest.
Cruise has often been criticised by the media for not spending quality time with Suri, now 10. The actor has been busy making movies back-to-back since his split from Holmes in 2012.
But he is said to have reached out to his daughter back in June, and he had her flown to England in early July so that they could spend his birthday together.
"Everything was treated very discreetly," the source said, adding that Suri was accompanied by a bodyguard and her nanny. The insider also noted that Suri was "very important" to Tom and a "special part of his life."
As for Holmes, she is said to be dating Jamie Foxx. Neither Foxx nor Holmes has spoken about the romance, but according to reports, the duo has been together for almost three years.
