KV Anand is likely to direct Ajith's 57th movie, which will be  be bankrolled by a leading Kollywood producer.

There have been many reports on Ajith's 57th movie for quite some time now, but none has been confirmed.

The names of many top directors were linked to the project, tentatively titled "Thala 57". 

One of them was KV Anand. Now, it seems talks have been concluded and the actor has given his nod for the project. After having discussions for a few months, the duo has finally locked in a script.

Other details about the project are not available at this stage except that a leading producer from Tamil film industry is likely to produce the movie. Going by KV Anand's past projects, it is safe to say that the upcoming movie will be an action thriller.

This is for the first time the duo is joining hands. However, it is not sure whether KV Anand has approached Ajith with the script that he had offered to Rajinikanth. For some reasons, the superstar and the cinematographer-turned-director could not come together. 

Currently, Ajith is busy with Siruthai Siva's film, which has Shruti Haasan in the female lead role. The film produced by AM Rathnam is in the shooting stages. The film will be wrapped up in the next few months and will be ready to hit screens during Diwali.

It is only after the completion of this flick that the forthcoming Ajith-KV Anand film will take off.
