Himesh Reshammiya's latest outing "Teraa Surroor" has concluded its first week with an average collection at the Indian box office. The movie has failed to halt the business of "Neerja."

Before its release, "Teraa Surroor," which marked Himesh Reshammiya's comeback to acting, made headlines several times, all for good reasons. The movie had a decent amount of hype and promotions. Trade experts had predicted it would get superb response and stop the rocking run of three-week-old film "Neerja," starring Sonam Kapoor.

"Teraa Surroor" was reportedly released in 1,748 screens with 5,802 shows per day. It was the biggest screen count for a Himesh-starrer till date. The movie registered average occupancy on its opening day and received mixed response from the audience. It showed growth in business over the weekend, but it was not up to the mark.

"Teraa Surroor" has collected approximately Rs 11.38 crore at the Indian box office in the first week. Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#TeraaSurroor Fri 1.79 cr, Sat 2.09 cr, Sun 2.58 cr, Mon 1.38 cr, Tue 1.27 cr, Wed 1.18 cr, Thu 1.09 cr. Total: ₹ 11.38 cr. India biz. [sic]" Its collection will be affected by the new release "Kapoor and Sons" in its second week.

Despite the release of "Teraa Surroor," "Neerja" managed to hold 624 cinema halls in the domestic market in its fourth week. The Sonam Kapoor-starrer has fared well and collected Rs 5.42 crore at the Indian box office in its fourth week, taking its 28-day total collection to Rs 73.07 crore nett in the domestic market.

Taran Adarsh ‏Monday tweeted: "#Neerja crosses ₹ 70 cr mark! [Week 4] Fri 65 lacs, Sat 1.30 cr, Sun 1.50 cr. Total: ₹ 71.10 cr. India biz. EXCELLENT!" This Friday, he further tweeted, #Neerja continues its SOLID run [Week 4] Mon 56 lacs, Tue 51 lacs, Wed 44 lacs, Thu 46 lacs. Total: ₹ 73.07 cr. India biz. SUPERB! [sic]"

New release "Kapoor and Sons" has snatched 220 screens from "Neerja" in the latter's fifth week. but trade analysts say it is still a very good number of screens for a film in its fifth week. Taran Adarsh tweeted" "This is incredible! #Neerja will start its 5th week with 748+ shows in 404 properties. Setting new benchmarks. [sic]"
