Senior Telugu actor Chandra Mohan aka Mallampalli Chandrasekhara Rao was rushed to a private hospital he suffered a heart attack on Thursday afternoon.

Chandra Mohan's family took him to the Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad after he complained of severe chest pain. He has been put on ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital. Doctors say the actor is responding well to the treatment and is out of danger now.

Born in Pamidimukkala village of Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh on 23 May 1945, Chandra Mohan completed his graduation from the agriculture college of Bapatla. He made his acting debut in Telugu film industry through the film "Rangula Ratnam" in 1966. Later, he has starred in over 120 movies in Telugu. He was last seen in Gopichand's hit film "Loukyam".

Chandra Mohan has worked with popular Telugu actors such as Krishna, Sobhan Babu, Chiranjeevi, Mohan Babu, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Ravi Teja, Junior NTR, Prabhas and Allu Arjun and others. He has won many a hearts with his performance. He has won one Filmfare and two Nandi awards for "Chandamama Raave", "Athanokkade" and "Padaharella Vayasu".
