Mollywood movie buffs all across the nation are now eagerly waiting for the release of Odiyan, the magical fantasy movie that will feature none other than Superstar Mohanlal in the lead role. As the film is gearing up for a grand release on December 14, piracy movie portal Tamilrockers has now threatened that they will upload the camera print version of the movie on its opening day, Metromatinee reports.
In earlier days, Tamilrockers have not bothered a lot to release pirated versions of Malayalam movies as Mollywood is a very small industry. However, when it comes to 'Odiyan', things are different, and the film is releasing with a Pan Indian outlook. Apart from Malayalam, 'Odiyan' will also have its simultaneous release in various other Indian languages like Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
A few days back, Tamilrockers had threatened that they will release the pirated version of Shankar's magnum opus Rajinikanth movie '2.0' on its opening day. Despite all the efforts to curb privacy, the admin of Tamilrockers successfully uploaded the camera print version of the movie in both Tamil and Hindi. Even though '2.0' created storms at the theatres on its opening day, the release of the pirated print negatively impacted the collection of the movie in the latter days.
When it comes to 'Odiyan', makers are now taking stringent measures to remove files within minutes it gets uploaded to Torrent sites like Tamilrockers. As per reports, makers of 'Odiyan' has apparently set up a high-profile technical team to delete pirated prints from torrent websites.
Earlier, a team of anti-piracy officers from Tamil Nadu police had arrested the admin of Tamilrockers. But even after that, the website uploaded pirated prints of Indian movies from different domain extensions.
'Odiyan' is directed by VA Shrikumar Menon, and it is based on the lives of shape-shifting people mentioned in Palakkad folklores. Apart from Mohanlal, the movie also stars Manju Warrier, Prakash Raj, Siddique, Nandu and Narain in other prominent roles.
The film, bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor will have its theatrical release in more than 3,000 screens, making it the biggest Mollywood release of all time.
