Ikkis disclaimer

Sriram Raghavan's latest release – Ikkis – has surprised one and all with its strongly worded disclaimer at the end. The film that has released soon after 'Dhurandhar' is facing backlash for keeping its tone even and mild against the Pak army. Many have compared it to Aditya Dhar's film and accused it of showing things diplomatically.

The disclaimer

However, it is the hard-hitting disclaimer at the end that has raised eyebrows. The disclaimer roughly translates to: The humane behaviour of Pakistani Brigadier K. M. Sisar is an exception. Otherwise, our neighbouring country can't be trusted. The Pakistan army has behaved inhumanely with our soldiers and their families during peace and also during war. They have repeatedly and openly violated the Geneva Convention in torturing our army men. As responsible citizens we must always remain alert and prepared amid their terrorist activities. Jai Hind.

Reddit not impressed

Many on the internet have said that adding the disclaimer in contrast to the tone of the movie seems to be an after-thought. "I am sure this was added at last moment. Dhurandhar effect," wrote a user.

"Never sail in two boats....choose a side, stick to it, it feels more authentic that way," another user commented.

"This is Dhurandhar effect. The film makers might have feared people not watching the film due its portrayal of bhaichara with Pakistan and added this disclaimer as a precaution," one more user commented.

"Well the whole movie was based on the premise of the goodness of Pakistanis so even though this makes sense considering historical wars like 1999 i don't see why the makers put this at the end after galloping an anti-war narrative the whole movie?? As a comment said stick to a boat," a reddit user wrote.

"Even if you made a movie that doesn't politically sit right with most people, please grow some balls and stick to your stance. It's like people editing or deleting comments after they've been downvoted on reddit. The real ones leave it there for the love of the game," another reddit user commented.
