Czech automaker Skoda has launched new Yeti facelift in India with a price tag of ₹18.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Available just in one trim in both 4×4 and 4×2, the new Skoda Yeti Facelift comes to the market with subtle changes both inside and outside. Mechanically, there is no change in the new Yeti and the SUV packs the same 2.0 litre diesel engine, which features in the current Yeti and continues to have two states of tune.
The 4×2 Elegance variant gets 110 PS at 4,200 rpm and 250 Nm of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Meanwhile, the all-wheel drive version, 4×4 Elegance model, can churn out 140 PS of power at 4,200 rpm and 320 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Talking of the changes received by the new Yeti facelift, there is reworked front and rear bumpers with LED tail-lamps, bi-xenon head-lamps, new fog lamps, new housing for the wing mirrors and new colour options for the roof.
Inside the cabin, the Yeti facelift gets three spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, keyless entry with push button start, electrically adjustable driver seat, electrically-foldable wing mirrors and an eight-speaker audio system.
On the safety front, the Yeti gets airbags, Anti-lock Braking system with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, brake assist, traction control, Electronic Stability Program, hill hold and hill descent control.
Skoda is also rumoured to launch its new Rapid facelift in the country on 30 September. Under the hood, the Rapid facelift will pack new 1.5 TDI turbo diesel, which is seen in the Volkswagen Polo. The engine is likely to come in two states of tunes like VW Polo - 90PS power and 220Nm torque and 105PS power and 250Nm torque.
