Varun Dhawan is on cloud nine. The 'Border 2' actor is winning rave reviews for his performance in the battle saga. Varun had been at the receiving end of a lot of trolling once the trailer had dropped. From his smile to his expressions, many things had been scrutinised. Back then, the Dhawan lad had maintained his composure and urged public to just watch the film in theatres.

And now that they have, everyone has only the best of things to say about Varun Dhawan. After fans and various celebrities; director Shashank Khaitan has also praised the 'Badlapur' actor on social media. Sharing the part for which he got trolled the most, Khaitan wrote, "You might have a 'tedhi smile' but you have the cleanest heart and sincere eyes. And all of that is in full display in Border 2," he wrote.

Varun and Shashank have worked together in several films including 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania', 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' and 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari'.

Khaitan's post comes after 'Border 2' director, Anurag Singh and Karan Johar also praised him on social media. Varun had earlier said in an interview that he doesn't get bogged down by the trolling and wanted people to watch the film in theatres to understand and see what he had done in the film.

Varun's reaction to trolling

"I believe that you shut down the noise and just let your work do the talking. Yeh sab cheezein chalti rehti hain (All these things keep happening). It doesn't really matter. Main iske liye kaam nahin karta hoon. Main jis cheez ke liye kaam karta hoon woh iss Friday ko pata chalega (I don't work for this. What I work for, you will find out this Friday," Varun had said in an interview.
