Shanaya Kapoor has broken her silence on her debut film that got shelved. The Dharma Productions' film titled 'Bedhadak' was left in a lurch despite being announced for a long time. The film was announced with Shanaya starring opposite Lakshya Lalwani and Gurfateh Pirzada. The craze and fanfare around the film made news.

Glad how things turned out

So it came as a major shock to the audience and the industry when it was shelved. More so since rarely a Dharma film gets shelved, more so after being announced and promoted. Shanaya waited for several years. In between came some projects that got delayed too. The diva eventually made her Bollywood debut with 'Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan'. The Kapoor girl starred opposite Vikrant Massey in Santosh Singh's romantic drama.

Shanaya on shelved film, delays

"I feel everything happens for a reason. What's meant to be will be. I'm glad about the whole experience now that I sit here and look back at it. It's shaped who I am today. The film getting shelved, and certain projects happening and then not happening, made me who I am today. It made me work on my craft much more during the time I wasn't facing the camera," she said in an interview with Screen.

Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep both expressed their frustration and sadness over Shanaya's projects getting delayed and were over-the-moon when her debut film released. Shanaya was recently seen opposite Adarsh Gourav in survival drama 'Tu Yaa Main'. The film has received mixed reactions with many appreciating Shanaya's performance.
