American singer/actress Selena Gomez is reportedly ready to be in a relationship. The Come and Get It singer, who famously dated Justin Bieber and The Weeknd, has an idea of what she wants in her next boyfriend.

According to a report in Hollywood Life, the 26-year-old singer hopes to date a non-celebrity in the future. A source said, "Selena's got a list of qualities that she wants in her next boyfriend and one thing that isn't on the list is celebrity status.

"In many ways she would actually prefer that her next boyfriend not be famous. She wants someone who has found their passion in life and is successful, but they do not need to be a celebrity. She's more than open to dating a non-famous guy," the insider added.

"She also wants a boyfriend that has the same values and beliefs as she does, that's a nonnegotiable. And loyalty is another biggie, when it comes to trust Selena has vowed not to overlook any red flags the next time around. Chemistry is crucial too, if Selena doesn't get butterflies in her stomach she's not interested," the source shared.

Meanwhile, Gomez's mother Mandy Teefey had opened up about the qualities she thinks a man should have if he wants to date her daughter. The 13 Reasons Why producer told People, "A sense of humor," adding that it would also be important for the person to be "family-oriented" and "someone who truly understands the life that she lives."

"I empathise with her a lot because could you imagine trying to find someone who isn't in this business that understands, they're gonna read she's cheating every five minutes on them? That's a special person," she explained.

"I want them to care about her and not the fame and not trying to sell things or become something," Teefey said.

Meanwhile, the former Disney star had previously revealed that she is unhappy with the constant scrutiny about her relationship with on-and-off boyfriend Bieber. She told W magazine: "I'm so exhausted. I honestly am so done. I care about his health and well-being. But I can't do it anymore."

"To me it was: I'm 18, I have a boyfriend, we look cute together, we like that. Then I got my heart broken and I cared. Because people had no idea what was going on, but everywhere it was a million different things. I was kind of in a corner, banging my head against the wall. I didn't know where to go," Gomez added.
