While the Supreme Court made a historic verdict on gay rights and abolished section 377, a shocking list of top 10 Bollywood gay celebrities on IMDB caught our attention.
You will be surprised to know that one user uploaded a list of top 10 Bollywood gay celebs on IMDB, putting out names of stars like Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham among others.
Titled "top 10 gay people in Bollywood", the list was published way back in 2013, and still appears in the top Google searches if you type "top 10 gay celebs in Bollywood". The list includes Salman Khan, Kunal Kohli, Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Sanjay Suri, Atul Agnihotri, Aditya Pancholi, Sunil Menon, Rohit Bal and Apoorva Agnihotri.
Interestingly, celebrities included in the list are not gays and are happily married with kids. While Salman Khan is known for his multiple affairs with Bollywood divas, Atul is married to Sallu's sister Alvira.
Abhishek and John are also married, and what might have caused their name to be among gay celebrities is the fact that they had portrayed themselves as gay in the film Dostana.
However, it is shocking to see an IMDB user putting up names of such Bollywood celebrities as top 10 gay celebs. This clearly appears to be an attempt to defame Salman and other stars mentioned in the list.
Meanwhile, LGBTQ community across the country has been celebrating the apex court's big verdict of quashing section 377. After many years of struggle by gay rights activists, gay sex has finally been legalised in India.
Many Bollywood celebrities have also been expressing joy at the SC's verdict. Stars like Karan Johar, Riteish Deshmukh, Atushmann Khurrana, Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Preity Zinta, Sonam Kapoor among many others applauded the judgement.
