Director Pa Ranjith says that he is currently writing the script for Sarpatta Parambarai 2, which is expected to start shooting in March or April.
Sarpatta Parambarai 2 is a sequel to Sarpatta Parambarai, which has been a hit with the audience. Pa Ranjith said, "I'm writing Sarpatta Parambarai 2 with Tamil Prabha. We've already got a form for it, and we're hopefully planning to go for a shoot by March/April. I initially narrated a story to Thalapathy Vijay; he really liked it, but for some reasons, it couldn't happen."
Pa Ranjith wishes to work with Rajinikanth again after Kabali (2016) and Kaala (2018). The director said, "I would like to work with Superstar Rajinikanth again, but we have to see if my story and the kind of story world he likes could combine together and if we could do a film. I'm in talks with Bollywood actors for Birsa Munda. It's very hard to align their dates; finally, an actor said yes to it."
Talking about Mari Selvaraj, he said, "People criticise me and Mari Selvaraj's works as caste films, but I don't respond to it. I leave it to their opinion. Even some people who criticised initially changed their opinion and corrected it. I'm happy with Mari Selvaraj's growth. There was huge competition among distributors, satellite, and OTT buyers to buy Bison. His films are well accepted among audiences. I liked all his films."
Pa Ranjith added, "If I want to see a sequel to one of his films, it should be #Vaazhai2. I want to see how the character behaves after he grows up. I want to see the world and the other characters' lives in the sequel after the impactful ending. He has written several stories based on his real-life experiences till he came to cinema and became a director."
