"Sarainodu" (Sarrainodu) collected a decent amount at the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T) box office on the first day. The Allu Arjun starrer has become the 3rd biggest opener of 2016 after "Sardar Gabbar Singh" and "Nannaku Prematho."

Ever since Boyapati Srinu announced it, "Sarainodu" has been generating positive buzz in the media. Its promos also added to the curiosity of the audience. In addition, its producers had massive promotional strategies for it. Allu Arjun and Rakul Preet appeared on several TV channels to promote the movie.

"Sarainodu" was released in 950 screens in 875 locations across both the Telugu-speaking states on April 22 and became the biggest release for Allu Arjun. The makers of the movie held benefit shows in some centres in both the states in the wee hours of Friday and the movie ran to packed houses almost everywhere.

The Allu Aravind-produced movie had good advance booking for the first day and the theatres witnessed unprecedented crowd in the regular morning show. "Sarainodu" showed decent growth in the later shows. The film registered an average of 80 to 90-percent occupancy in both single and multiplexes. It ran to packed houses in many centres in both the states.

As per early estimates, "Sarainodu" has collected Rs. 13+ crore gross at the AP/T box office on the first day and its distributors' share stands at approximately at Rs. 10.03 crore. The movie has beaten the record of Allu Arjun's "S/o Satyamurthy" and "Race Gurram," which earned Rs. 9.27 crore and Rs. 6.89 crore, respectively, at the AP/T box office on their opening day.

"Sardar Gabbar Singh" and "Nannaku Prematho" earned Rs 20.92 crore and Rs. 12.18 crore, respectively for their AP/T distributors on the first day. Pawan Kalyan and Junior NTR's films had become the first and second biggest openers of 2016. "Sarainodu" has now landed in the third place, pushing down "Dictator" (Rs. 5.79 crore share).
