Smartphone leader, Samsung is reportedly planning to release the recently unveiled flagship Galaxy Tab S slate series in India next week.
The company has reportedly begun sending out invites to media houses for an event to launch Galaxy Tab S series devices, reported BGR India. The program is scheduled in New Delhi on 1 July and the company is expected to reveal the release date and prices of the new tablets.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S series slates made their debut at a glitzy event – 'Galaxy Premiere 2014' in New York City on 12 June. The new devices are top-end tablets in the company's premium slate portfolio. They flaunt high-resolution super AMOLED WQXGA (2560x1600p) display with ominous home button (with finger-print sensor and perforated back-cover shell as seen in the company's flagship smartphone Galaxy S5.)
Other notable feature is that both the Galaxy Tablet S - 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch devices measure just 6.6 mm, much slimmer than the Galaxy 5 and even the paper thin fifth generation Apple iPad Air (7.5 mm) appears thicker compared to the new Samsung tablets.
Both Galaxy S 8.4 and 10.5 pack same internal component sans the screen size and battery specification. They ship with Android v4.4 KitKat OS powered by Exynos 5 Octa (1.9 GHz Quad-core ＋ 1.3 GHz Quad-core) /Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.3 GHz Quad-core CPU (Samsung is most likely sell the Exynos chipset variants in India, just like Galaxy S5, which came with Octa-core processor), 3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB inbuilt memory.
