Smartphone leader Samsung is reportedly planning to launch the new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in India next week.

The company has begun sending out the invites to select media houses for an event, understood to be the launch pad for showcasing Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in New Delhi on 23 March.

It is learnt that the company will disclose the devices' price, release date details and even start the pre-order service on the aforementioned date.

Previous reports have indicated that Samsung's new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will hit stores on 10 April. The former model's price is expected to start from ₹52,999 and the later special edition model's starting price is said to be ₹61,999.

But we believe the prices are likely shoot upwards thanks to Union Government's 2015 Budget where in it increased the custom duty on imported products from 6% to 12.5%.

Even Apple Inc hiked all the iPhone series smartphone prices in India.

Both the Samsung devices were unveiled at the recently concluded MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2015, Barcelona. Galaxy S6 (& S6 Edge) is constructed using premium metal with Gorilla Glass 4 shield (both front & back) and on the front it sports a 5.1-inch QHD (2560x1440p) display with pixel density of 577 ppi (pixels per inch).

On the other hand, S6 Edge too features same display resolution, only difference is that the screen stretches to both right and left side edges.

Both the devices come packed with 14-nanometre class 64-bit Exynos 7 Octa-core processor with 3GB LPDRR4 RAM, UFS 2.0 series super-fast memory chips -32GB/64GB/128GB storage options, a 16-megapixel camera and a 5mp snapper on the front.
