Even as speculations on the release date and specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 are doing the rounds, many have suggested the possibility of the device to come along with Gear VR. Oculus Chief Technology Officer John Carmack has recently revealed their plan to make full consumer launch of the Gear VR with Samsung's next product.

The South Korean electronics giant is tight-lipped on the release date of its upcoming next-generation device but it is expected to be released in September, by the time its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 4 completes one-year.

Interestingly, John Carmack said at the Game Developer's Conference that they are ready to release the Gear VR.

"We've got a plan now; we've got a date," Carmack was quoted as saying by Engadget. "You can kind of mark it on the calendars. Oculus is going to go for it as hard as we can [with] broad consumers, trying to sell as many units as possible, unleashing Samsung [marketing] with the next Gear VR."

"When we say we're ready, which is really on Oculus from a platform structure, software and content level, we're going to be able to sort of back-unlock the promotion and sales of multiple products there," he continued. "We're still not ready for Samsung to go out and do their blitz. We expect when everything is ready, Samsung can go out. You'll see ads everywhere; [Gear VR will] be in all the cellphone stores, all these things that we really wanted and sort of expected to do in the beginning

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is also expected to come with a curved display following the positive response on the Galaxy S6 Edge.

"There is a possibility that Samsung will introduce the curved display for the Galaxy Note lineup," said Roh Tae-moon, according to Korea Herald (via G4Games).

"The edge display technology is still in its infancy, but Samsung will further promote it by sharing the SDKs (software development kit) and APIs (application programming interface) for developers to come up with a range of more practical applications," said Samsung's mobile chief Shin Jong-kyun.

The Galaxy Note 5 is expected to come with features like a 6-inch Ultra HD 4K Display, Exynos 7420 SoC processor, 18MP main camera with powerful sensor, 4GB RAM, retina scanner, fingerprint scanner, wireless charging, scratch free, and dust and water resistant.
