Critics' positive response on the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone, curved version of the Galaxy S6, seems to have inspired the South Korean electronics giant to come up with a dual-edge display version of its upcoming Galaxy Note 5.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is expected to be released in September, as its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 4 will complete one-year cycle by that time.

Nothing much is known about the upcoming flagship device but Samsung's executive vice president Roh Tae-moon has hinted at a news conference in Barcelona that the new Note device could come with a curved display.

"There is a possibility that Samsung will introduce the curved display for the Galaxy Note lineup," said Roh Tae-moon, according to Korea Herald (via G4Games).

"We will make a strong push for the S6 Edge. It will outpace its predecessor (the Galaxy Note 4 Edge) in terms of sales," said Samsung's mobile chief Shin Jong-kyun. "The edge display technology is still in its infancy, but Samsung will further promote it by sharing the SDKs (software development kit) and APIs (application programming interface) for developers to come up with a range of more practical applications."

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 5 is expected to come with features like 6-inch Ultra HD 4K Display, Snapdragon 810 processor or Exynos 7420 SoC processor, retina scanner, fingerprint scanner, wireless charging, scratch and dust resistant, water resistant, health conscious, and Heart Rate monitor, according a report by Venture Capital Post

However, a report by 4K website claimed that upcoming next-generation device would come packed with 16GB to 128GB internal memory with microSD card up to 128GB, powered by Exynos 7420 SoC processor, and house a 18MP main camera with powerful sensor and 6 or 7MP front snapper, and 4K ultra HD video shooting ability. Earlier reports had claimed that the device would sport a 5.9-inch display and come with 4GB RAM.
