Salman Khan is known for blocking Eid dates for the release of his films, but with "Kick 2" he may pick an unusual date.

According to an Absolute India News, the superstar and producer-director Sajid Nadiadwala intend to begin shooting by next year and release the film on Christmas 2017.

While there has been no official confirmation on the news, Salman has lately been blocking dates at least a year ahead of release – case in point: "Sultan", which will be out on Eid 2016.

Also, it has now become a trend of sorts to let out the release dates much before the team even scouts for locations.

However, a few days ago Salman revealed a bunch of key details of the sequel saying how he is to essay a double role. What's interesting to note is, he will be seen playing contrasting characters.

"Salman has announced that he will be playing a double role in Kick 2. What is not known is that one character is a positive one, while the other is an out-and-out villain. That's the idea," DNA quoted a source as saying.

These tid-bits had everyone's attention but what grabbed headlines was Salman's big joke on Jacqueline Fernandez not being roped in for the film.

The star's comment that she had been "kicked out" of the film sparked rumours of a rift between the two, but later Jacqueline rubbished the rumours saying they share a good rapport.

"I find it funny when people say that we are cut off. Salman would never disrespect me or any woman. Even if he did say he had kicked me out of Kick 2, it wasn't meant to hurt me. Casting is his decision and he doesn't owe me anything. Our relationship goes beyond professional commitments," she told Mumbai Mirror.
