New day, new legal notice and new controversy. More than new film announcements, Bollywood seems to be making headlines for legal battles these days. Amid the ongoing Ramesh Taurani-Vashu Bhagnani-David Dhawan feud over the song Chunari Chunari and the Ranveer Singh vs Farhan Akhtar dispute, Salman Khan has now landed in the middle of another controversy.
The actor's legal team has reportedly sent a notice to the makers of Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy.
Salman Khan sends legal notice to makers of Kala Hiran, allegedly inspired by his Blackbuck case
For the unversed, the film's poster was unveiled last week and is believed to be inspired by Salman Khan's long-running blackbuck poaching case. Reports suggest that the actor objected to both the subject matter and the promotional material associated with the project.
The legal notice reportedly asks the producers and director to halt the film's release and remove all posters and promotional content related to the project. It also warns of further legal action if the demands are not met.
According to the makers, Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy draws inspiration from real-life legal battles and action-driven events. They claim the film has been mounted on a grand scale with an international-style treatment. The first-look poster features a central character in an intense and mysterious avatar against a striking red-and-blue backdrop, hinting at a suspense-filled action drama.

Reacting to the notice, producer Amit Jani shared a copy of it on X (formerly Twitter) and alleged that the move was intended to intimidate those associated with the project.
"Salman Khan has started threatening people associated with the movie Kala Buck by sending them notices," Jani wrote on the social media platform.
In a subsequent statement, Jani claimed that the notice was an attempt to pressure people into backing down because of Salman Khan's star power.
The film is being produced by Amit Jani, who has previously backed projects based on controversial subjects. He had earlier produced a film inspired by the murder of tailor Kanhaiya Lal.
Amid the controversy, Jani Firefox Media Private Limited has unveiled the film's first-look poster. The project is directed by Bharat S. Shrinate and produced by Amit Jani. The makers have also announced that the film's teaser will be released on June 20.
While Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy appears to reference the blackbuck hunting case linked to Salman Khan, the makers have not officially disclosed the extent to which the film is based on the matter.
The legal dispute has now raised questions over the future of the project and whether the film will be able to release as planned.
