It looks like that Karan Johar's "Shuddhi" has finally got the lead pair. If latest reports are believed to be true, then the makers have roped in "Bodyguard" lead pair Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

According to Zoom, now Salman and Kareena will play the lead roles in Johar's most ambitious project "Shuddhi."

Previously there were reports that Salman has reportedly given his nod to the magnum opus "Shuddhi." Salman has apparently read the script and he loved it. "Salman loved the story but they have yet to discuss regarding dates and money. Karan wanted to cast Salman for years. It could finally happen. The modalities are being worked out now," a source informed Mumbai Mirror.

Before Salman, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan's name emerged for the male lead role. But SRK turned down the offer via mail and Aamir recently revealed that he wasn't approached for the role. The makers initially casted Hrithik Roshan and Kareena in the lead roles, but both the actors opted out. Now, whether Kareena has accepted the offer again is not confirmed as well. Post her exit, there were reports that Deepika Padukone might step into her shoes. But the rumours died down after she signed Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Bajirao Mastani" opposite her alleged boyfriend Ranveer Singh.

Now for the lead cast, one has to wait for the makers of the film to make an official statement. Johar announced the release date of the film and also said that they will reveal the lead actors soon. But it's been four months now and the makers have yet not made an official announcement.
